Location List & Cast List
- Hessle foreshore - near the humber bridge
The reason I chose this location was simply because it is under a bridge and this directly relates to the title and lyrics within the song under the bridge. Under the humber bride is where the actor comes when he feels alone, to listen to the waves and to get fresh air. I also wanted this location to be sunny and bright compared to the indoor locations, to show that he is happy when under the bridge.
- Wyke College in the Theatre
I chose this location because its the easiest space for the dancer to dance in without hurting themselves as there is a sprung floor. Also because I wanted it to be dark so when its shown in comparison to the outside scenes it makes the outside scenes seem even brighter. The dancer is representing a) representing a past memory of his friend/ lover. b) a surreal memory as the dance fades in and out.
- Cross Keys Pub
As my musician Lindsey was playing a live gig there it was a good opportunity to film him in an active environment. Inside the pub it was fairly laid back, just like in the original 'Under the bridge' music video. The RHCP didn't preform it on a big fancy stage they preformed it in a garage of some sort, so a small pub was perfect for the grunge look.
Prop List
- A red rose - used in many scences. To represnt his lover Jodie.
- Guitar - Played on throughout the performance on stage
- Microphone and stand - for lindsey to sing into
- Stage blocks - to build up for a stage
Music Video Analysis - RHCP
The video above is the official music video for the RHCP's song 'Under The Bridge. The whole of the video is shot in one location, which appears to be a practice room as their is no audience and no fancy staging. Its almost asif we, the audience, are intruding on one of their rehersals as they preform for us.
There is a varied use of camera angles used, which are cut to the beat of the music. As the song starts of soft and slow paced, so does the pace of the editing. But as the song progresses, so does the amount of cuts, the pace of the cuts and the general energy of the song. Excitement is also added because the colour of the video changes from black and white into colour.
